A recent deluge of out of town guests have been keeping me and my guest room busy. While I’m still working on the basics (ahem…nightstands! lamps!), I found this guest room checklist that has been acting as my long term inspiration:

Good lighting in the house, it gives a shape, a color and brings the romantic and the attractive look to it. Pick the right lighting for a specific occasion and enjoy your home.

This week is the most waited or hated day in the whole world, Valentine’s Day. Talking about this day, you will always find 4 categories of people: people in love looking to celebrate it, people not having a partner and stressing out on this day, positive thinking people – not having anyone but celebrating it anyway with friends, and haters of this day – also celebrating it. So basically, everyone’s organizing some interesting events until that day as well as on it.
Here I come with couple of home ideas for your little home parties with the girls, or some ideas for a romantic night for your lover. On Valentines Day you don’t want to overdecorate the room and the house, better less and giving a sense of a designing look. However you are thinking about this romantic day, let’s make it and try to remember all the good times and loving moments on Valentines Day, if not for yourself – than make someone else happy.
First things first. If you are arranging a fancy party somewhere than a good sign decoration would be suitable for it. You think you have time for this, than try to crafting a heart or writing on the panel or poster some sweet words. Showing off a bit in front the room or place the event will be held – will bring smiles and it will come as a first discussion in the conversation.
If you are not so much into crafting than you can buy a Valentine’s Red Door Wreath, that looks very fancy and you can keep it for a while more.
The cheapest way to decorate is using whatever you have in the house and replace it or a bit change it. If you are a candle fan, why not using them for Valentines Day. Just grab whatever candles you have and redecorate them for this special romantic occasion. Add some red ribbons and hearts and voila, one set is done. Set them on a plate or something and arrange where the dinner or the fest is going to be held.
Preparing for a dinner party with the girls or pairs, than a gorgeous looking table will be enough for the whole night event. Keep it simple and add some small decorations that you hand made. If you are not red color lover than there is some good ideas for holding an amazing romantic dinner table.
Going completely anti – red color, than craft some hearts from your old magazines and stick them to each other hanging from above the ceiling.
“Love” letters are in fashion all the time. You can color yourself and make them colorful or any pattern you prefer. The best thing in letters is that you can use them on the wall, or table, or anything or anywhere you have a wish to use. Another advantage about letters – no need to specially use red color for them, cause they send love from their meaning anyway. Just be creative.
And the last words from your Valentine… Valentine’s Day is not only for couples but for all people in the world. Love should be spread all over and don’t be afraid of trying new things and use your own crafty ideas. Even you are not so good at it, a hand made gift or decoration will bring happiness and more love in the air. Make it happen and let’s enjoy love day not only on 14th of February, but all the year long.

Details in your home sweet home has a major importance for a creative and sparkly persons. If you have ever moved out or have been gone from home and started over in a new country or place, than you know how it feels when leaving. Leaving some place conclude a whole car with your stuff and an empty space in your heart missing all the memories.
When you move in a new place, with empty white walls and lack of memories, we have a chance to start over and make new ones. New does not necessary has to be hard and bad but good and exciting. Adding little things every day and keeping small details you create a new home and a new whole life based on it.
Never be afraid in trying new things and never lose enthusiasm in life cause you are someones inspiration too. Make your heart fall in love again and collect only the best of life, never looking back at bad things. Even though it is a whole new place and life, with empty walls, make them look colorful and sparkling of good memories.

As long as this year cold winter days are still keeping to be in the air, the hibernation still goes on.
So, I decided to collect some good ideas for your house to give a refresh of the month.
When I was little, me and my sister used to decorate in the beginning of the month or season the whole house. We were changing the colors and adding some new pillows. Winter time was an interesting season, but also a lazy one for both of us, we were waiting for the spring to come every second. Having cold winters in Moldova, sometime reaching to -20 degrees Celsius, we were sitting in the house all days. So a change was right there all the time when we got bored of the look of our room. That activity brought us closer and made our house look wonderfully catchy and very cozy.
After a quick research, I found out that all months have their own birthstone that describes them perfectly. And February’s birthstone is amethyst. This stone has amazingly and sparkly nuance of purple, gold , brown and blueish colors, but mainly violet.
Purple encourages a fresh perspective on emotional issues. When using in your home enhance compassion and takes you closer to your friends and family. Purple relaxes your mind and thinking and opens your heart to new things. This color is associated with wealth, nobility and magic.
Bring some magic in your house and make your house look the best with some purple elements. As mentioned before, the amethyst stone has gold nuance too. So, if you are not so much into purple, you can add some gold elements, but also keep some wool blankets to make it cozy for this cold days.
Again, if you are more into minimalism style in the house and earth colors lover, than some blue prints like pillows would refresh your room a lot but will keep the coziness and warmth that we all like in winter time.

Sometimes winter time is depressing and stressing us out. Especially when you live in Nordic countries of Europe you feel demotivated to work or to study in any way this time. When you have to go to work or to start studying at home but you don’t have a wish, than your office desk should be the one to understand most and to cheer you up at anytime.
1: The first thing you should think when talking about office desk is your chair. The reality is that you should sit on it for those 8 – 12 working hours in the day. This long time only a good comfortable chair can save you. Even though your chair is an old wooden one or you don’t afford to buy a new one – a blanket or any type of wool or pillow will help a lot to change it.
2: There is a huge advantage if the room has big windows and daily light can come directly to your desk. Only make sure that the light is coming from your right hand and not from in front (your eyes are not going to get so tired and you won’t feel like light is disturbing you a lot when working on the computer)
3: Whether you like a minimalist style or multiple things everywhere, keep things that give you inspiration and lighten up the mind on some great ideas evertyime. Work with the colors too. Hanged or nailed items either with favorite moments or great quotes will fill your desk with history and soul. All the objects used on your office table can be changed every time whenever you think you are tired of them.
4: A new refresh in your folders will not make it worse either. Pick the folders you use the most and buy some wrapping paper and cover them in. This will give your desk a new business look or depends what preferable color you use. This is a cheap change on your desk but quite creative and complete your preferences.
5: Colors used around your office table could be various, but from my experience fresh cold colors or earth colors are the best for concentration and a good environment around your desk. If you adore colorful things, my suggestion would be to go with green (fresh), blue (best to concentrate and think wisely), pink (lovely and cute) and yellow (happy color).
